The College of the Muscogee Nation is dedicated to an academic program that reflects our core values based in our rich tribal culture, language, and history. Students, community, and Muscogee Creek people are the true foundation for every class taught and every degree offered at the college. ACADEMIC AFFAIRS PARTNERSHIPS:

The Office of Academic Affairs collaborates across departments to further the mission and goals of the tribal college.

  • Registrar: The Records Office (Registrar) provides students with the information and resources needed to  register for appropriate courses while offering quality support services that ensure the academic integrity of CMN.
  • Library: The campus library creates a welcoming, supportive and inclusive environment that connects students to the world of information and ideas.
  • Student Affairs: The Student Success Center renders academic support services for faculty and students. It assists with the advisement of students at risk of academic probation and offers tutoring services for students seeking supplemental instruction.

GENERAL EDUCATION:
General Education coursework is NOT a degree program, but is the foundation for the degree programs at the College of the Muscogee Nation (CMN). The purpose of the General Education component of all degrees at CMN is to prepare students to be lifelong learners and gain a broad, interrelated appreciation of cultural, economic, political, tribal and social contexts. Students participate in broad and extensive experiences, which are both rich and important in preparation for living in a tribal and democratic society. Taken as a whole, General Education courses provide the opportunity for the development of individual talents and a satisfying educational experience at the College of the Muscogee Nation.

DESCRIPTION OF ASSOCIATE DEGREE AND CERTIFICATE PROGRAMS

NATIVE AMERICAN STUDIES:
The Native American Studies Associate of Science degree program is a specialized degree focusing on Mvskoke language or Mvskoke studies with opportunity for alternative tribal courses. Students will develop an informed and tribal-specific appreciation for historical, cultural, and language issues within the broad social contexts of Native North America. Native American Studies students develop a working knowledge to help preserve and record tribal history and strengthen culture and language.

GAMING:
The Gaming, Associate of Applied Science, Degree focuses on casino operations and a variety of specializations relating to marketing, management, hospitality and customer relations. Students will gain knowledge relating to management, supervision or customer service in tribal gaming. Students will develop a well- rounded educational experience that conforms to the highly specialized needs of tribal casinos and acquire knowledge applicable to Native American gaming law, Native American gaming regulations, and tribal casino operations.

TRIBAL SERVICES:
The Tribal Services, Associate of Science, degree program emphasizes Administration, Human Services, and Health Services in the tribal organization. Students completing this program will recognize the specialized needs within tribal governments, Native American programs, and tribal enterprises. Students will develop knowledge applicable to tribal government, Indian land issues, project management and grant writing within the tribal context.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE:
The Criminal Justice Associate of Science degree is an academic program designed for students who are interested in the field of tribal law enforcement and the Justice System. Students develop knowledge in the law enforcement community and in areas of federal Indian law, state and tribal criminal and civil law.

GENERAL STUDIES:
The General Studies Associate of Science degree is an academic program designed for students who are interested in a broad range of education with an emphasis on the core curriculum. Students develop knowledge of mathematics, sciences, writing, and communication.

NATURAL RESOURCES:
The Natural Resources Associate of Science degree is an academic program designed for students who are interested in the field of conservation and sustainable agriculture. Students develop knowledge of the elements of the natural environment and aspects of conducting agribusiness.

CERTIFICATE IN GAMING:
Students completing the Certificate in Gaming will demonstrate the fundamentals of the organizational and administrative processes involved within the gaming industry.

CERTIFICATE IN MVSKOKE LANGUAGE STUDIES:
Students completing the Certificate in Mvskoke Language Studies will exhibit fluency in reading, writing, and speaking the Mvskoke language.
