I grew up in Michigan. A childhood interest in politics led me to study political science and urban studies at the University of Michigan for my BA. This was followed by a couple years completing masters degrees in Community Planning and Public Administration at Auburn University. I pursued further graduate studies at SUNY-Buffalo, where I took coursework in cultural history, indigenous studies, and media studies, and the University of Arkansas, where I was pursuing a PhD in Comparative Literature and Cultural studies. I have taught for 7 years at colleges in Arkansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma. I currently reside in Tulsa with my wife Victoria.
