CMN students must demonstrate academic proficiency before enrollment in a given subject area. Academic proficiency determines one’s eligibility to enroll in specific courses or placement in remedial classes during a student’s first trimester of enrollment. Cultural enrichment certificates and relevant courses may be excluded from this requirement.

Students must prove academic proficiency in one of four ways:

  • Transferring credits that prove academic proficiency in a subject area; or
  • Submitting an ACT score of 19 or better in each subject area, or an SAT score of 330 in Reading and Writing and 510 in Math, or a similar acceptable battery of tests or
  • Completing Assessment Testing. See the Testing Center for details.

Begin creating your class schedule and meeting with an academic advisor who will guide you through your degree path. Students with fewer than 30 complete credit hours will speak with one of our freshman advisors.
